*Guatemala churches*
I don’t understand religion, but I understand the need for faith, need to have some spiritual connection to something greater than any of us. Guatemala is a country of religion, and there are many churches. Here are some of it that I’ve captured. All these churches smelled of candles and incense, it was so very peaceful. There’s so much history here, so I’ll try to be as accurate as I can be with the descriptions.
The overlook in Antigua
You can find Cerro De La Cruz in the north end of the city of Antigua. The cross was built in 1930. You can take a tuk tuk up to the hill, but the concrete steps leading to the hill are not steep & takes about 20 minutes to climb. You can see Volcán de Fuego, Volcan Agua, & Volcán Acatenango sitting there looking all pretty. Magnificent view of the town. The place where the cross is located is called “Mirador de la Cruz” (cross’s look out). There’s tourist police everywhere, you can always ask help from them, in case you need. #antiguaguatemala #realguatemala #guatemala #cerrodelacruz @ Mirador De La Cruz, Antigua Guatemala
Border crossing Honduras- Guatemala
Border crossing between Honduras and Guatemala at El Florido. Painless border crossing, both the immigration counters right next to each other, no exit fees for Honduras nor entrance fees for Guatemala. #honduras #realhonduras #elfloridoborder #guatemala @ Frontera el florido, honduras con guatemala
Volcan Fuego
Getting up close and personal with a monstrous beauty – Volcán Fuego. We saw the destruction she has caused during the June eruption. (I refer to all things beautiful as “she/her” because that’s just how I see it)
For Costa Rica
Rainbows, rain drops, and nice people, I’m in love again with another country, another set of great people. They insist on helping you, even with our limited Spanish vocabulary. This one police officer actually radioed another in an attempt to give us directons. Laid-back is the word here. Pura Vida!!
